One of the biggest mistakes I see adult children of emotionally immature parents make is trying to fix every struggle one by one.
They spend years working on their overthinking, people-pleasing, or inability to relax without realizing how much of it is caused by the same nervous system patterns.
This is why nervous system healing is truly so powerful. Because when you work on what's underneath all those struggles, you start noticing changes in parts of your life you didn't even know could get better.
In fact, some of my students' favourite breakthroughs are the ones they never expected. Like...
1. Finally having some peace inside your own head. Instead of spending hours replaying conversations, second-guessing yourself, or going down another rabbit hole trying to figure something out, you can actually let things go and enjoy your life.
2. Getting upset without completely losing control of how you react. You can feel angry, hurt, or frustrated without lashing out, shutting down, or saying things you spend the rest of the day regretting.
3. No longer needing to binge eat, scroll for hours, or completely check out just to get some relief. Instead of feeling so overwhelmed by your emotions that you need something to escape them, you actually know how to help yourself feel better without turning to coping habits that leave you feeling worse afterward.
4. Letting someone you love be in a bad mood without it becoming your problem. You can care about how they're feeling without assuming you've caused it or that it's your responsibility to make them feel better.
5. Saying no without writing an entire courtroom defense for your decision. And being able to let someone feel disappointed without spending the rest of your day feeling guilty or second-guessing yourself.
6. Finally feeling free from the emotional hold your emotionally immature parent has on you. Imagine seeing their name pop up on your phone without your stomach dropping, or hearing another hurtful comment without spending the next three days thinking about it.
7. Sitting down to relax without feeling like you should be doing something. You can actually enjoy your downtime instead of mentally running through everything that needs to get done or feeling guilty for not being productive.
8. Waking up without already feeling stressed about the day ahead. Instead of opening your eyes and immediately thinking about everything that could go wrong or everything you need to take care of, you can actually start your morning feeling rested.
And I could keep going, because the list is practically endless.
That's how much influence your nervous system has over your everyday life. And that's exactly what we're working on TODAY at 2 PM ET in my free workshop:
3 Steps to Becoming the Nervous System Safety You Didn't Get
Inside, I'll show you:
✓ Why so many of your everyday struggles are connected to the same nervous system survival patterns, even when they seem like completely separate problems
✓ How to recognize when your nervous system is operating in survival mode and what you can actually do to help your body come out of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn
✓ How to start building safety from within, so your ability to feel okay becomes less dependent on what other people are doing or what's happening around you
You don't need to spend another year trying to fix a million separate problems when you could start learning 3 simple steps this afternoon that can change everything.
